On Saturday, Israeli police detained 24 Palestinians in Hebron city’s central market, an official in the West Bank city said.

According to an anonymous official who spoke on condition of anonymity, Israeli soldiers invaded the village of Surif in Hebron and searched a number of homes in the area.

According to the official, the raid resulted in the detention of 24 people.

Even though the Israeli army claims to have apprehended wanted Palestinians in the process, it often conducts detention operations against Palestinians in the occupied West Bank and East Jerusalem.

According to the Palestinian Prisoner Society, a non-governmental organisation, at least 4,650 Palestinians were being imprisoned in Israeli jails as of this October.
